Terms of Service - Skin Altar Studio

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms of Service govern the provision of facial and skincare services by Skin Altar Studio (“the Company”) to the client (“the Client”).
1.2 By booking a service, treatment, or package, the Client agrees to these Terms of Service.
1.3 A separate Privacy Policy applies to the collection, use, and storage of Client data. Please refer to it for full details.

2. Booking Procedures

2.1 All bookings must be made in advance, either online or by contacting the Company directly.
2.2 A non-refundable deposit is required for all appointments (single treatments and packages) to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total treatment cost.
2.3 Clients must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding service preferences, skin concerns, and relevant medical history.
2.4 Appointment reminders will be sent via text or email prior to your appointment.

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

3.1 Clients may reschedule or cancel with more than 48 hours’ notice without losing their deposit.
3.2 Appointments cancelled between 24 and 48 hours’ notice will result in the deposit being retained.
3.3 Appointments cancelled within 24 hours or missed (no-show) will result in the loss of the deposit.
3.4 Deposits for packages are non-refundable. However, the first appointment of a package may be rescheduled following the 48-hour notice rule.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Payment for services or packages is required either at the time of booking (deposit) or at the first appointment, unless otherwise agreed.
4.2 Single treatments must be paid in full at the time of the appointment.
4.3 Treatment packages may be paid via agreed instalment plans, with the deposit counted toward the total package cost.
4.4 Accepted payment methods include cash, major debit/credit cards, or bank transfer.
4.5 All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

5. Location of Services

5.1 All services are provided exclusively at Skin Altar Studio’s fixed premises. Mobile services are offered for retreats.
5.2 Clients are expected to arrive on time. Late arrivals may result in reduced treatment time or rescheduling.

6. Health and Safety

6.1 Clients must inform the Company of any medical conditions, allergies, or skin sensitivities prior to the appointment.
6.2 The Company reserves the right to refuse, adapt, or postpone treatments if there are health or safety concerns.
6.3 Specific recommendations:

  • Botox: wait at least 14 days before facial treatments.

  • Dermal fillers: wait at least 4 weeks before facial treatments.
    6.4 Routine review appointments are offered as a courtesy but are limited to the timeframe discussed during your treatment plan.

7. Children

7.1 Children under 14 are not treated.
7.2 Clients aged 14–18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
7.3 Children should not be brought to the clinic unless they are able to remain unsupervised in reception; please call ahead to confirm.
7.4 Children are not allowed in treatment rooms.

8. Behaviour in the Studio

8.1 Please respect the peaceful environment of the studio and keep noise to a minimum.
8.2 Food and drinks in disposable containers are not permitted.
8.3 Abusive or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. The Company reserves the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting such behaviour.

9. Liability

9.1 The Company holds public liability insurance for all services provided.
9.2 The Company is not liable for adverse effects, allergic reactions, or outcomes resulting from failure to disclose health information, misuse of post-treatment advice, or products.
9.3 The Company’s total liability is limited to the value of the treatment provided.

10. Treatment Packages, Gift Cards, and Prepaid Cards

10.1 All packages, gift cards, and prepaid cards must be redeemed within 24 months of purchase.
10.2 Deposits for packages are non-refundable and follow the cancellation rules outlined above.

11. Non-Refundable Events

11.1 For events or special bookings, a strict non-refundable policy applies from 48 hours before the event to ensure preparation and quality of service.

12. Data Protection

12.1 Skin Altar Studio operates in accordance with UK GDPR.
12.2 Client data is used only for providing services, maintaining treatment records, and relevant communications.
12.3 Client information will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent.

13. Complaints

13.1 In the first instance, please contact us by telephone or email. We will aim to resolve concerns promptly.
13.2 If needed, we may arrange an appointment to assess, document, and discuss the matter.
13.3 If the complaint cannot be resolved informally, our formal complaints procedure is available on request or via our website.

14. Changes to Terms of Service

14.1 The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service at any time. Updates will be posted on the website or communicated directly to Clients.

15. Governing Law

15.1 These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
